When Ralph Lauren first launched his range of sportswear in 1967 it came off the back of a retail career for Brooks Brothers and then designing his own range of neck ties having been inspired by fashion as a teenager by the likes of Fred Astaire and Cary Grant.  The kid from the Bronx went on to operate from a tiny space within the Empire State Building in New York.

Today, the Polo Ralph Lauren brand offers a wide range of styles to suit many different fashion outlooks.  The eyewear lines complimenting each of these looks with classic proportions and clearly announcing style and sophistication.

Polo Ralph Lauren

Iconic designer Ralph Lauren was born in 1939 as Ralph Lifshitz and lived in The Bronx area of New York City. After working in retail he went on to design and create his own range of neckties. In time the brand Polo was launched.  A fashion brand instantly recognised, initially by its New England look that was loved by preppy All Americans, and now by millions over the world.

The world first saw the iconic polo pony chest logo in 1972, 2 years after launching his first full line and 1 year after his first ladies collection.  The term Polo Shirt was soon adopted as his short sleeve, collared sport shirt was in huge demand and became a staple part of most wardrobes in that time.

The next three decades saw the brand expand internationally and diversify its range, launching colognes, denim lines and luxury labels

Providing the platform for an upper-crust life, the brand delivers across a number of styles including Art Deco, Romance and Town & Country heritage. Each of which now provide a inspiring basis for his the Polo Ralph Lauren sunglass ranges.
