Introducing the epic Junior sunglass range from Ray-Ban

Smugness in a small world….

For years sections of the kids/junior sunglass market has been surviving on inferior versions of adult styles.  The use of much cheaper materials can create frames that bend or break far easier and let’s not even consider the quality of the lens material or resulting optics in place.  Why has this been the case?  Well that’s a fine question and a very sad situation.

The reality is that kids and youth eyes are actually at much greater risk to sun damage than adult eyes as their optical development isn’t fully developed.  As such natural eye UV filtering isn’t functioning properly yet.  So sensitivity to UV and blue light is huge, in fact so huge there are reports that say by 18 the average kid will have been exposed to more than half the amount of UV and blue light that you’d expect in their whole life.

Scary, right!

Distortion is another issue.  And the problem with distortion is that often you don’t really see the problem too easily.  The net result is overworked eye muscles that have to pull so much more information together to feed back to the brain that muscle fatigue creates issues down the line.

As a result gaining lenses that have a strong and correct optical ‘package’ to them is spectacularly important for the short legs in your lives.   Going to one of the globally trusted sports brands to find the ‘right’ kind of eye protection and care is a good place to start.  Yep, they’ll be more expensive but you’re actually getting a sunglass that’s capable of doing more than just resting on a pair of ears.

When Ray-Ban decided it was time to give the kids the right look and the right protection, a range of sports and lifestyle glasses were delivered to market that were both fit for purpose and ready to cause a stir.

So what’s in the range?

First are the 3 classic Ray-Ban icons of the sunglass world:  Wayfarer Junior, Aviator Junior and Clubmaster Junior.

Reduced in size but not in stature and now ready to lead the way in the youth market too. Each style offered in a strong range of frame and lens colour combinations, so whatever the feel or the vibe of your own little gangsters, there’s an option to suit their vibrancy.

For a little more funk there’s the Ray-Ban Hexagonal Junior.  Made from a lightweight metal, the model is creating a real vibe amongst the junior ranks.  Girls get some styles of their own too.  There’s the Izzy, based on the Erika adult model, a style that gives a sleek side and a soft rubberised front frame and there’s also the Erika Metal Junior model too.

With more models to come and others already involved you’ll soon realise that there’s plenty of options to work with, for even the fussiest of young trend setters.
